Help on Rotating Banners Post by allendover1 » Wed Oct 14, pm Hi all, Just wondering what is the one good product that doesn't conflict with everything on your site that rotates banners out for you? What product is that? Please any helpful advise would be very appreciated If it does everything you want, go with it.
If it doesn't, let us know what you want the banner extension to do so we can help find you a good one. Please don't hijack another user's thread. What I have been looking for - and I am sure most people will want as well is a rotating banner without page refresh of course - but not flash based.
You should be able to have multiple modules on the same page pulling for the certain category that you have set in the config area of that certain module. Also in hope that this module would not conflict with any other softwares - at least most the time. There is one called Ajax banner - but it pulls banners up on top of one another until the page is fully loaded - then it drops back to just one banner in the banner module position - not a professional look - plus it is throwing errors now instead of working on my sites I build.
I will be checking out your site as well right now - I have had it written down to check out this week anyway - and then here you are asking to help me - WOW - amazing. I will be visiting often. In that module - it should be able to have multiple copies and still work, be able to make it work with the banner component core style - you can pick what client - category or certain set of banners. Should rotate without page refresh and yet not clash with hardly any other major software.
It should also on the front side - look professional - I say that because Ajax banner - did the job but when the site would come up - all the banners would show in that place and below it till fully loaded - then all would disappear but the one banner that was suppose to show - wasn't professional or appealing to a client viewing it. I will try and stick with the basic non-rotating banner until that is done. I'm not sure it can be done, yet, but think it would have a lot of applications if I can do it. Tthe way I plan to implement it will still make all the stats and everything work properly for the banner module, but we will test to make sure.
I'll let you know when I have something. I hope its free??? This is something thing I know most people need Something solid that will work no matter what Anything I do on the Joomla forums I don't charge for.

Typically, when we do development, one of us will go over the other person's work to make sure they don't see any issues and to add any final cleanup changes.
Alex is going to look it over for me when he gets some time, but we've just been swamped this week. I will ask him when he thinks he can get to it tomorrow. I will post back here and let you know. One of the main ones we are thinking of is the Random Items on the front page of our site.
