Windows 7 home premium additional license

I installed captioned retail version it comes with 2 DVD installation discs: one for bit and one for bit of bit on my Apple MBA Bootcamp partition.

My question is whether I need to deactivate my bit version Windows 7 Home Premium first and install bit Windows 7. I am unsure the activate license is for bit only or both. The hard drive is also probably encrypted and will need to be replaced if you don't have the code. I am certain it is not a stolen machine. My friend is a 20 year veteran of the company she works for. It may have been their laptop, but it was most certainly not stolen.
