I was looking for a hack to make my WGR into a Bridge, and stumbled on this post. Most people refer to Bridging as the ability for your Access Point to connect to another Wireless Access Point and essentially extend your network to another area of your house without the need for a physical wire connection.

So if you have a room on the other end of your house where maybe you have a gaming system located, you can use your 2nd Access Point as a bridge connect it to your main Access Point, plug the gaming system into the 2nd Access Point, and your connected without having to run wires.
